is that driftwood or art?

It is both. This shot was taken at Fort Stevens State Park near Astoria OR. The drift wood is in the shape of a turtle near where the Columbia River meets the ocean. This place is called the Columbia Bar, it is the most treacherous river bars in the world. The mouth of the river is also called the Graveyard of the Pacific because of all the sunken ships. Some of the waves can reach a hight of 20-30 feet in the winter.

Cape Disappointment houses the coast guard, and they do 100-200 rescue calls a year.

I am kind of a history nut when it comes to the Pacific Northwest. I can ramble on for hours.
